• ՓՈԽ.-Վրաց. სტო ստո կամ შტო շառ «ծա-ռի կամ գետի ճիւղ», შტოებიანი շտոեբիանի «ճիւղաւոր», թուշ. რტო րտո «ճիւղ». սրանք կարող են ծագած լինել հիւսիսային Հայաս-տանի գւռ. *ոշտ ձևից. հմմտ. անոստ, որ կ անոշտ «որ չի ոստնում»։ (Վրաց. բառի նը-մանութիւնը յիշում է նախ Brosset JAs, 1834, 369)։
