• = Բնիկ հայ բառ. նախնական իմաստն է «բոլորակաձև, ոլորակ, օղակի պէս կլոր, rond», որ տարբեր է գունդ «գնդաձև, ձմե-րուկի պէս կլոր, sphérique» բառից։ Ինչպէս կլոր աշխարհաբարի մէջ շփոթ կերպով նշա-նակում է թէ՛ «բոլորակ, rond» և թէ՛ «գըն-դաձև, sphērique», նոյնպէս և այստեղ կա։ նման շփոթութիւն գինդ և գունդ բառերի գոր-ծածութեան մէջ. մանաւանդ որ այս երկուսը ածանցման մէջ հաւասարապէս տաւես են գնդ-, որով արմատը որոշել անկարելի է։ Գըն-դակ «շրջանակ» կամ «խաղողի ծիլ», գնոաձև «ոլորապտոյտ» (օր. գնդաձև գնացք օձից) անշուշտ sphérique չեն և հետևաբար բխած են գինդ «բոլորակ» բառից։ Կարող են սա-կայն նաև շփոթմամբ գունդ բառից յառաջա-ցած լինել։ Ինչ որ էլ լինի, գինդ բառի բուն իմաստն է «կոլոր» և յետոյ միայն դարձել է «ականջի օղ», ճիշտ ինչպէս հյ. օղ «կլորակ. 2. գինդ» կամ գերմ. King «բոլորակ, օղակ» և յետոյ Ohrring «ականջի գինդ»։ Այս նշա-նակութեամբ հյ. գինդ ծագում է հնխ. vendha ձևից, որի միւս ժառանգներն են հհիւս. vinda, հբգ. wintan, գերմ. winden «ոլորել, դարձնել», հբգ. uuindinga «զինդ, կանացի զարդ», նբգ. Winde «բաղեղ», հբգ.
